This is more than just an event—it’s a moment to recognize the brilliance, resilience, and impact of educators from diverse backgrounds. In a profession where representation remains limited, we are creating a space to honor, uplift, and connect those who shape the future every day. It’s time to dress up, be seen, and celebrate our presence in the sector.
Why We Exist
According to the Department for Education’s School Workforce in England report (2023), only 16.2% of teachers identified as belonging to the Global Majority, and just 1.3% of headteachers in England identified as Black. These figures highlight the importance of visibility and recognition in education. Our events are designed to bring educators together—not just to reflect on the challenges but to revel in our successes, our journeys, and our shared excellence.
We are proud to collaborate with Aspiring Heads, for the 2025 Gala. Aspiring Heads is a social enterprise dedicated to breaking down racial barriers in education in the UK, with the goal of increasing representation of black teachers and educators in school leadership, ultimately creating a more inclusive learning environment for all children.
